Am extremely happy.
Apart from last night's match, if any of you missed it, u missed big time. Was China against USA on basketball. Why so special? Because it's a match between NBA players. On the Chinese team there are 3 NBA players (and 2 more NBA players-to-be i think). On the USA team, ALL of them are NBA players. We have ppl like Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian. But they have Jason Kidd, Kobe Byant (!), Dwayne Wade (MVP) and LeBron James (!!!). All four are NBA legends.
See i love both teams, ppl like LeBron James and Kobe Bryant are among my favourite players. But on the other side is team China, close to my heart. And that explains why it was soooo emotional for me. China couldnt win, we know. NO ONE COULD HELLO IT'S THE ALL STAR TEAM THAT WE ARE FIGHTING AGAINST! But we just want a good match.
101 to 70. First quarter a draw. second quarter missed by 7 points or so. It was not bad, not bad at all. In fact a lot of nice stunts on court. But no matter who wins it would have been difficult for me anyway. (Weining shares my sentiments)

Anyway back to the quick update on medals. China's still leading. And PHELPS and his team made a new addition to USA's number of golds.

As i am typing this. China just moved on to its THIRD gold, now leading the world in the number of golds.

LUCY IS AT MY HOUSE!!!!!!
haha last night i was at hers. then we woke up at around 2, had lunch then went to La Senza Paragon to buy her (big) bras. After that she came to my house to have dinner because my mother said "Poor girl, surely has difficulty to eat. Let me cook her something nice."
And then she ended up staying over here.

Im sitting in the Hotel now.
ARGH IM FLYING BACK TO SINGAPORE IN A FEW HOURS' TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
im so sad! Korea is heaven on earth! The food is superb and the shopping is brrrrrilliant! The girls here are all so pretty! eye-candies! and everywhere i go i feel like im in a Korean drama. SO KOREAN DRAMA!
oh btw i did quite well in World Scholar's Cup. a bunch of medals, such as top in team, 3rd in art, 5th in econs (!!!) and some other lit prize blah blah.
i took quite a lot of pictures though. and i will share them here soon. you guys will see me in a Hanbok! hahaha.
Saaaaad! why do i have to go back!!!! (quotes Yiyi "This is the first time i hate going back to Singapore so much)

IM FLYING OFF TO KOREA TOMORROW MORNING!
*does a mad dance around the house*
Am flying SQ from Terminal 3! How exciting!
We are staying in a nice hotel in the city. The second day after we arrive, we are going sight-seeing! Yes, before the competition. The third day will then be teh competitino, the 4th award ceremony and the 5th shopping!
We are going shopping at Dondaemon which is the biggest shopping area in South Korea!
There are other Singapore teams going, RI team (which will be staying in the same hotel as us), ACSI team and Dunman team i think. There will be about ten teams from different states of the US. There will also be teams from Taiwan, India, Korea, Japan, Australia etc.
Im here blogging away because i jsut finished the THICK Economics resource guide for the second time. There is this false sense of accomplishment although i still have to mug Lit, History, Astrology and Math (!!!)
Wii update with photos when i get back, hopefully (hopefully with photos, not hopefully i get back)
Then i will need to plunge into coursework and accompany Lucy to have her wisdom tEEth removed!

Spent the day injecting formaldehyde into small animals. When i got formaldehyde on my arm i went running around shouting "I'M GOING TO DIE! I'M GOING TO DIE!" then the instructor calmed me down by saying " No, you won't die." And the moment i turned, she added in a small voice, "You will only get cancer 20 years later."
The second half of the day was spent writing about herpes, syphilis and chlamydia. And the late afternoon was spent on "how the somatic cell DNA can be slightly altered by the mitochondrial genes in the receptor cell".
And i need to move on to read Econs, Astrology and all that sh*t.
The Korea trip is really troublesome because i have to apply for Visa. A loooonnnng form awaits me. And i need to write letter on behalf of my mother. and photocopy this photocopy that.
Sam is out late again. This time coz Ht's girlfriend flew over to Australia and they are all out to party or something. Heard about more white chicks, Asian chicks!
I'm getting immensely stressed over a lot of things, i shall eat peas.

Quadraplets that were delivered when the earthquake happened, they are now out in the open, hungry for proper medical attention

Thousands of these children turned orphans overnight. Who is going to adopt them, now that they dont't even have limbs?

This baby here is only 3 month old. He was found in the arms of his dead mother who used her body to protect him. He was sound asleep when he was found. The rescue team found a handphone wrapped in a blanket together with the boy. On the handphone screen the rescue team saw the last message the boy's mother left for him, "亲爱的宝贝，如果你能活着，一定要记住我爱你"

He just found his wife, but he isn't sure if she is going to live

She is fortunate enough to live, but her parents are not

The soldier in the middle, broke down and cried "让我救多一个孩子,我是军人啊!" when others stopped him from rushing into a collapsing building. He struggled and cried as he watched the building collapse, trapping hundred of children inside.

This old lady jsut lost his son.

The earthquake that happened in Sichuan, China on the 12th of May, killed 20,000 people. This figure excludes those 50,000 or so that are still trapped.
It pains me to see how this people struggle.
A wife weeped silently as she hugged the husband's dead body. Her husband was a teacher who opened his arms to shield 4 of his students from being killed by a collapsing wall. losing his own life in the process.
A boy who was trapped for more than 2 days was finally discovered by the rescue team. His leg has to be amphutated on the spot in order for him to be saved. The boy cried and begged the rescue team ,"叔叔,求求你不要切断我的腿."
A soldier, despite his wife's screaming protest, rushed in to save people in a collapsing building. Before he let go of his wife's hand, he told her that he was no longer her husband, because wearing the uniform of a soldier, he was a man of his country and his life belonged to the people.
A tough soldier cried in front of the camera when asked how many people were saved. He said, "我们眼睁睁地看着这么多人死去却救不了他们." He then fainted, because for more than 2 days, he did not stop and rest.

Japan has now sent out their speciallly trained rescue team to China. This team was formed when an earthquake attacked Japan in 1995. Singapore has sent out a team of rescuers too. Other countries are sending money, food and water into China. We can help by donating too. My mum and I are going down to the Embassy of China to donate later. Yesterday Lucy and I also placed money into the donation cans placed in Breadtalk. I hope everyone can help by donating just a small portion of your pocket money.

Early in the morning, when you are all grumpy and cranky, morning hair tucked neatly behind the ears, don't you really wish to go back to bed? May be it is especially bad that day, having slept only 5 hours or less the previous night, and may be even fought with boyfriend on the phone before stomping off to bed. So when you are walking slowly towards the main road, you decided it is not a bus day for you and choose to flag a cab instead. Now the quality of the cab-taking experience decides your mood for the day.
Today i met a really nice cab driver, making up for the fact that this Malay lady who walked blatantly in front of me (i have been waiting for 20 mins) and flagged the first cab that came. I was so pissed (early in the morning) i walked right up wanting to reason with her, but before i could do so, she hopped in and left. So back to topic. The driver was nice, he said "Good morning" in a cheery tone right after i got into the cab. He asked me VERY POLITELY where i wanted to go. Throughout the whole trip he didnt make any irritating noise and didnt attempt to make stupid small chats (like some). The only thing he said was "Which gate is nearer for you? so i can drop you there, it's easier for you." And after i paid him he said thank you. Very pleasant experience indeed.
Well i shall not talk about irritaing drivers for i am sure all of you have seen enough. There is this driver who freaked me out the other day.

It was a seemingly friendly Malay driver, who didn't speak much on the way too. AND GUESS WHY? coz he was falling asleep! From where i was sitting i could see his eyes threatening to close up every 5 seconds. He had to shake his head and open his eyes really wide once every few minutes. And he was dirving at a BREATHTAKING speed! I was so freaked out i even put the seat belt on. I tried to talk to him to keep him awake but it wasn't really working. His head was nodding slightly as his eyelids got more and more droopy. When we reached whitley road he was like "This is where Mas Selamat escaped. He must have used black magic." And he went back to being sleepy. Lucky thing was, he managed to get me to school safely. Phew.
Ok tmr shall be a bus day for me. at least bus drivers are not a problem, generally. And cab fares are getting really high nowadays. The other day i took a cab down to Bugis, which was a 10 min train ride from my place, it cost me 19 bucks! Well ok it was a friday evening and i was just being stupid. Alright shall end abruptly here and go do some online shopping before i go to bed.

Something is bothering me

Hey friends. i know i shouldn't be talking about personal problems here. but yeah. haven't been blogging for some time coz something has been bothering me a little. So maybe i can share the problem here, if u have any advice please leave a comment okay? Really appreciate your help.
Most of you know that Lucy is my good friend right? We have been very close. She is a great friend. She is funny and everything. But recently i have been getting really worried about her. You know when your friends are in trouble you reall want to help them? i love Lucy and i want to be there for her. Ok here is the problem.

Both of us havent been fond of bands or celebrities and what not. We are people who dont "fan" anybody you see? We just listen to whoever that makes good music, whatever show that is nice. I know Lucy, or so I thought. However, I havent been seeing her much lately, besides in class of course. Whenever i asked her what she is doing she said "watching some videos". She is addicted. Then one day i saw what she was watching (coz she was watching in school." It was some Taiwanese drama. She said she liked it because of the main guy. If any of you know him, Ming Dao, or in English they call him Mindow (like W-indow). Here's a picture just in case some of you can't recognise him by name.

He is a member of the Taiwanese boyband 183 Club. Well look, there is nothing wrong with liking an actor. I myself LOVE Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl. But i think she is getting a bit out of hand.
I caught a glimpse of her posting on a Fan forum in Baidu (Mingdao's fan forum of course). She was saying stuff like she will support him forever. Yeah there is nothing with that! but she has been doing it! and i saw a whole file worth of his pictures in her thumb drive when i borrowed it this morning.
Am i worrying too much? Now tell me.
